About the Role

We are seeking an ambitious and driven Property Finance professional to join our team at Propel Recruitment as a Financial Controller. This is a varied and interesting role that will sit with a dynamic, high-achieving, and social team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee the business financials and the owner's personal investments and assets.
  • Accurate and timely preparation of the monthly and annual financial reporting process with clear insights into performance, risks, and opportunities.
  • Manage bank accounts and flow of funds.
  • Manage group cash flow, working capital, insurances, bank guarantee facilities, and taxation.
  • Work with external accountants and lawyers to manage tax obligations.
  • Oversee accounts payable and payroll with Accountant.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards and company policies.
  • Oversee SPV set up and administration.
  • Work with development and commercial teams on new site acquisitions, including financial analysis, due diligence, feasibilities, and tax implications.
  • Control and track the issuing and recovery of bank guarantees, bonds, or securities.
  • Manage financial requirements associated with leased properties, including lease schedules, annual reviews, bank guarantees, renewals, and terminations.
Leadership and Team Management
  • Lead and develop a small finance team of 1-2 people.
  • Liaise with Commercial Manager for project financial tasks.
  • Establish and maintain positive relationships with external accountants, bankers, insurance brokers, and funders/lenders.
  • Remain up to date with new laws, regulations, and contract trends for potential impact on business goals and objectives.
  • Assist the COO in HR-related matters, including the drafting of new employment agreements and onboarding of new team members.
  • Consistently maintain strict confidence regarding financial matters of the business, directors, and owners.
About You

We are seeking a Property Finance professional with a background spanning:

  • Financial Control and Financial Planning and Analysis.
  • Extensive and recent property experience - property industry experience is essential.
  • SPV set up and administration.
  • Exceptional level of trust and discretion as this role will manage both the business and owner's assets.
  • Capital and treasury management experience.
  • Track record of achievement, tenure, and promotion on CV.

You will be a natural leader who is passionate about property and contributing to the success of a business. You will enjoy using your outstanding commercial acumen and experience to provide financial and commercial insights to key stakeholders.

You have worked for a small-medium-sized property organization and have a passion for the property industry.
