We are seeking a skilled Machinist and Fabricator to join our Fleet Services Group at the Queensland Police Service.
Role Overview:In this role, you will be responsible for designing, fabricating, and fitting components for police vehicles to enhance their operational capability.
Main Responsibilities:- Interpret technical drawings and specifications to ensure vehicle modifications comply with Australian standards.
- Design and fabricate components for police vehicles, adhering to relevant legislation and health & safety requirements.
- Undertake refurbishment and installation of equipment for new vehicles.
- Install and remove ancillary equipment for specialist motor vehicles.
To be successful in this role, you will require possession of a current Queensland driver's license Class C or equivalent license.
A trade certificate as a Tradesperson (Fabricator) is highly regarded. Alternatively, qualifications, skills, and knowledge deemed equivalent, along with experience in fitting, welding, fabrication, and/or automotive trades environment, will be considered.
The successful applicant will work a 9-day fortnight working pattern and will be provided with uniforms.
