This role involves supporting injured workers in the processing of their Workers Compensation claims. You will be a key point of contact for the injured worker, employer, and treating health providers to review requests for compensation for medical treatment and other expenses.
Our entry-level position offers a structured training program, providing you with the necessary skills and knowledge to succeed in this challenging yet rewarding role.
Key Responsibilities- Manage and process claims for injured workers, ensuring timely and correct reimbursement of treatment costs.
- Review, monitor, and approve requests for compensation from injured workers for medical/surgical treatment.
- Ensure accurate documentation is received to process reimbursements for treating health providers and injured workers.
- Perform administration tasks such as assessing and processing invoices, entering contact notes, and drafting letters related to claim decisions.
- Engage in high-volume client and customer communication regarding claims outcomes, updates, and customer service.
- Utilize claims management systems and databases to record and review claims information, maintaining confidentiality and accuracy.
- Previous experience in a customer-facing role, particularly in fields related to medical administration, employment services, rehabilitation, mental health, social work, or health and safety.
- Tertiary study in psychology, social work, or a related field (beneficial but not essential).
- Strong telephone-based communication and administrative skills, with the ability to learn and utilize systems and databases.
