SEE Group is a leading civil construction, mining, and infrastructure company with over 35 years of experience delivering excellence. We're seeking a seasoned Construction Planner to join our team for a significant mining infrastructure project in Orange, NSW.

About the Role

The successful candidate will work closely with teams across engineering, project management, and site management to establish communication with the project team, receive weekly status of works, and perform weekly updates of project schedule.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Establishing communication with the project team to receive weekly status of works and physical progress data.
  • Performing weekly updates of project schedule, communicating changes in critical path, milestone dates, and highlighting delays and potential schedule slippages to the Project Manager.
  • Preparing look ahead schedules to support site construction operations.
  • Identifying risks and opportunities in construction schedules resulting from methodology, weather, resourcing, or other factors and ensuring schedules have provided for these in full.
  • Undertaking software conversions to suit client deliverable needs.
  • Understanding of project systems and procedures so that they are recognised in construction schedules and to identify and recommend improvements.
Requirements

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Tertiary degree, preferably in either Civil Engineering or Project Management.
  • Proven experience in the construction industry.
  • Proven competency with industry standard planning software - Primavera P6 or Asta Powerproject – is essential. Time chainage software such as TILOS or TurboChart – is desirable.
  • Able to collaboratively develop and manage complex programmes.
  • Clear communicator with ability to establish relationships at all levels of organisation.
  • Have had exposure to the following - Schedule Reliability Analysis, Last Planner, Critical Path Methodology, Design Planning, Earned Value Management, Schedule Risk Analysis, Forensic Planning.
  • Experience performing planning and scheduling of major projects is desirable.
  • Competent in all MS Office applications.
