Minimum QualificationsTo qualify as a teacher at TAFE Queensland, candidates must possess one of the following training and assessment credentials:
- TAE40122 or TAE Certificate IV in Training and Assessment;
- TAE Certificate IV in Training and Assessment plus TAELLN411 Address Adult Language, Literacy and Numeracy Skills and TAEASS502 Design and Develop Assessment Tools;
- TAE Diploma of Vocational Education and Training;
- TAE Diploma of Training Design and Development;
- Higher-level qualification in adult education (approved by TAFE Queensland).
Proof of qualifications and relevant industry experience will be required during the interview process.
Additional RequirementsPossession of relevant formal vocational qualifications (minimum Certificate III, Australian equivalent) is essential:
- MEM40119 – Certificate IV in Engineering; and/or
- MEM50119 – Diploma of Engineering – Advanced Trade;
Demonstrating a broad range of current industry skills and experience is also necessary. If you do not hold the required training and assessment credentials, we encourage you to express your interest as pathways to attain qualifications may be available.
Compensation and BenefitsCasual Rate: $108.10 gross per hour
Teacher Salary: $100,232.42 gross per annum
Additional Benefits Include:
- 12.75% superannuation
- 17.5% leave loading
- 4 weeks of Recreation Leave (accrued annually)
- 5 weeks of Non-Attendance Time (NAT) for preparation
- Access to paid professional development
- Potential for paid overtime arrangements
