Regional Legal Director

This is a unique opportunity to lead the legal function in APAC, driving business growth and delivering innovative solutions. As Regional Legal Director, you will be responsible for establishing and leading the legal function across the region, aligning with commercial and corporate objectives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a strategic legal plan that supports regional expansion and commercial decision-making.
  • Serve as trusted counsel to the executive team, providing expert advice on complex commercial contracts, IP/licensing, supplier agreements, and dispute resolution.
  • Oversee regional M&A activity, collaborating with the Corporate Development team to drive business growth.
  • Partner with Compliance to manage regulatory matters, incident response, and legal risk across APAC jurisdictions.
  • Lead the regional Commercial team, fostering high performance and operational excellence.
  • Manage relationships with legal providers and optimise external legal spend.

Requirements:

  • Australian-qualified solicitor with a minimum of 10 years' PQE.
  • Strong commercial law expertise, ideally in technology/SaaS.
  • Proven record as a legal or functional team leader, preferably within a technology-focused or private equity-backed environment.
  • Experience working in an organisation going through change - transformation would be advantageous.
  • Background working in a global matrix structure would also be helpful.
  • International legal experience across APAC is highly regarded.
  • Exceptional stakeholder management and influencing skills.
  • Commercially astute, pragmatic, and solutions-oriented.
  • Demonstrated success in driving business improvements and legal transformation.
