As a key member of our team, you will spearhead the optimization of Ubuntu for cutting-edge silicon. Your exceptional leadership skills and technical expertise will drive our distributed engineering team to design and implement best-in-class Ubuntu integration for IoT and server-class hardware platforms and software stacks.

We are seeking an experienced software engineering leader who can collaborate with commercial partners to deliver a seamless, optimized Ubuntu experience on their platforms. Your ability to develop your team through coaching, mentoring, leading by example, and providing actionable feedback will be crucial in driving success.

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of working with Linux distributions, Debian packaging, and high-performance, server-class hardware. They will also possess strong communication skills, both written and oral, and be able to effectively communicate solution value to customers.

In addition to your technical expertise, you will need to manage strategic engagements and ensure timely delivery on agreed project milestones. You will also oversee the development of the team's product architecture and roadmaps, fostering alignment with other teams to ensure cohesive product outcomes.

Requirements:

  • Proven expertise working with Linux distributions, Debian packaging, and high-performance, server-class hardware
  • Demonstrated ability to work directly with customers, resolving technical issues, interpreting business challenges, and effectively communicating solution value
  • Experience managing or leading a team of software engineers
  • Strong understanding of agile software development methodologies
  • Collaborative mindset, effective communication skills, and ability to build trust across multiple internal teams
  • Effective written and oral communication skills in English
  • Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in a technology field
