The successful candidate will be an experienced journalist with a strong network of contacts and the ability to write with confidence across a variety of sports. As a key member of our sports team, you will deliver unique, high-quality coverage for our daily and weekly news cycle.
Responsibilities will include attending live matches, press conferences, and events as required, reacting quickly to breaking news stories, and ensuring all copy meets legal requirements and the highest standards of accuracy, ethics, and editorial quality.
To be successful in this role, you will need to demonstrate excellent news judgement, knowledge of issues in the round and in the wider community, and a genuine interest in writing about sports. You will also need to have an understanding of different ways of engaging our audiences, particularly in digital, and be able to work well as part of a team.
We offer a competitive salary range of $80,000 - $120,000 per annum, depending on experience, as well as a range of benefits including professional development opportunities and a supportive work environment.
