The hospital operates 180 beds and offers a comprehensive range of specialist services, catering to the needs of the local community. The hospital's facilities include specialist wards and units for various medical disciplines, including Surgery, Day Surgery, General Medicine, Critical Care, Obstetrics, Paediatrics, Emergency Services, Oncology, Palliative Care, Rehabilitation, High Dependency Nursing, and Mental Health.

Role Overview

The Department of Geriatric Medicine has a dedicated Geriatrician working within the hospital and another based in the community, providing clinics and in-reach services to Residential Aged Care Facilities. The Geriatrician Service also collaborates with a Nurse Practitioner in a care model that prioritizes patient-centered care.

Requirements

To be considered for this position, applicants must hold the FRACP in Geriatric Medicine or be assessed by the RACP as substantially comparable. The successful candidate will be expected to contribute to the development of the Geriatric Medicine Service and work collaboratively with the existing team to provide high-quality patient care.
