About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Specialist – Innovation Projects to join our team at Australian Red Cross. As a key member of our Humanitech innovation program, you will be responsible for leading the development, delivery, and evolution of our virtual innovation curriculum with technology startups.

You will drive integration and evolution of Humanitech's principles and approaches, including exploring a Humanitech certification process. Additionally, you will lead the design and oversight of Humanitech events and represent Humanitech at external events, such as conferences, workshops, and working groups.

As a Senior Specialist – Innovation Projects, you will provide high-level advice to internal and external stakeholders on insights emerging from strategic project activities. You will also lead Humanitech's recruitment and supervision of graduate and HDR students, skilled research and communications volunteers, and interns.

Furthermore, you will support MarComms to translate Humanitech insights and evidence into brand positioning and storytelling.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the development, delivery, and evolution of Humanitech's virtual innovation curriculum with technology startups
  • Drive integration and evolution of Humanitech's principles and approaches
  • Lead the design and oversight of Humanitech events and represent Humanitech at external events
  • Provide high-level advice to internal and external stakeholders on insights emerging from strategic project activities

Requirements
  • Substantial experience in strategic planning, research, impact measurement, and design
  • Strong understanding of and experience in program/project management, particularly managing multiple projects across a variety of stakeholders
  • Experience translating and communicating complex ideas and findings to diverse audiences across platforms
  • Significant experience working in contexts of vulnerability, with a passion for centering lived experience in program and product design
  • Demonstrated experience in applying technology innovation to humanitarian programs, services, and systems
