The Opportunity

We are looking for a Solicitor or Senior Associate to become part of our esteemed Employment, Industrial Relations, and Safety team, based in Brisbane while collaborating remotely with our offices in Melbourne, Perth, and Sydney.

In this position, you will collaborate closely with leading Partners and Lawyers from both local and national teams. Your responsibilities will encompass a variety of tasks that support and advise major clients across diverse sectors on matters related to employment law and industrial relations.

You will oversee cases and mentor team members, playing a crucial role in fostering business opportunities with both existing and prospective clients. Your position will offer significant client interaction and the chance to cultivate a network of professional relationships. You will benefit from exceptional learning experiences while working alongside a team of highly driven and cooperative legal and support professionals.

You will assume a pivotal role within the practice group, working closely with our talented team to deliver employment law guidance on workforce strategy, employment considerations in large-scale M&A and project transactions, enterprise bargaining, industrial disputes, industrial actions, payroll compliance, general protections, and various Fair Work Commission and anti-discrimination proceedings.

Skills & Experience:

To excel in this role, you should possess:

Proven experience in providing advice on a variety of employment law and industrial relations issues from a leading top-tier private practice, government, or in-house setting; An excellent academic background, along with strong communication and teamwork abilities; A proactive approach to the team's strategic business development goals; Proficient skills and experience in offering strategic advice on workforce strategy, employment aspects of large-scale M&A transactions, enterprise bargaining, industrial disputes, industrial actions, general protections, and all types of Fair Work Commission proceedings; A strong desire to learn, grow, and maintain a market-leading practice.

The Team:

The Employment, Industrial Relations, and Safety (EIRS) team in Australia offers specialized expertise on all legal matters affecting the employment relationship. We advise employers on a wide range of litigious, advisory, and transactional issues, with our team's expertise encompassing: employment, industrial relations, discrimination and equal opportunity, work health and safety, crisis management, incident response, board and executive matters, and workplace training.
