Metal Fabricator Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Metal Fabricator to join our team in Unanderra NSW. The successful candidate will need to possess the following skills and qualifications:

  • Ability to read and analyse blueprints and drawings.
  • Experience in using TIG and MIG welders.
  • Examining welds for width of bead, penetration and precision.
  • Ability to weld vertically, horizontally and overhead.
  • Welding various metals using different techniques.
  • Cutting, rolling, shaping, bending, moulding, spinning, heating or hammering metal products to fabricate parts or sub-assemblies.
  • Heat treating metal parts and components.
  • Setting up and/or operating hand and machine tools, welding equipment.
  • Assembling parts and structures by lining them up and joining them by welding, bolting or riveting.
  • Fine-tuning products by cleaning, polishing, filing or bathing them in acid solutions, or applying protective or decorative coatings.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Certificate III in Engineering (Welding Fabrication) or equivalent qualification.
  • Minimum of three years' experience in this role or similar.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
