Senior Physiotherapist Job Description

The Senior Physiotherapist will be responsible for assessing the medical history and movement abilities of new patients, developing treatment plans based on medical diagnoses, and providing patients with massage therapy to relieve soft tissue pain.

  • Evaluate the medical history and movement abilities of new patients
  • Develop treatment plans based on medical diagnoses
  • Provide patients with massage therapy to relieve soft tissue pain
  • Mobilize and manipulate muscles and joints
  • Provide treatment using physiotherapy and rehabilitation equipment
  • Give patients exercises designed to strengthen and increase their motor abilities

The ideal candidate will have a strong clinical knowledge in physiotherapy, excellent communication skills, and experience working with clients of all ages. They will also have the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities:

  • Taking on more complex clients
  • Seeing a greater variety of clients of all types
  • Completing AT assessment and reports independently for specialized AT
  • Supervising PT and AHA students in clinic
  • Providing mentoring and supervision for physio and new grad physios
  • Participating in MDT training and workshops
  • Building skills in particular clinical areas

Requirements:

  • Graduate or postgraduate degree in Physiotherapy
  • Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
  • Experience working in a community-based setting
  • Strong clinical knowledge in physiotherapy
  • Excellent communication skills
