About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Statutory Planner to join our dynamic statutory planning team at Glenorchy City Council. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in shaping the future of our city through effective planning and development.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the assessment and determination of planning applications, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and policies.
  • Develop and implement strategic planning initiatives to drive economic growth and community development.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to achieve regulatory requirements and community expectations.
  • Provide expert advice and guidance to colleagues and external parties on planning matters.
  • Contribute to the development of planning policies and procedures to ensure effective and efficient service delivery.
Requirements
  • A degree or higher qualification in town planning or equivalent.
  • Significant experience in statutory planning, with a proven track record of success.
  • Demonstrated expertise in resolving complex planning matters, with a strong understanding of relevant legislation and policies.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to mentor and guide colleagues.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
