Disability Support Specialist

About the Job:

We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Disability Support Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our support staff, you will be responsible for assisting clients with daily living activities, promoting independence, and enhancing their overall quality of life.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide personalized support to clients with daily living tasks, including personal care, meal preparation, and household chores.
  • Promote and encourage clients' independence by supporting them in developing essential life skills.
  • Implement and follow individualized support plans tailored to each client's unique needs and preferences.
  • Offer companionship and emotional support to clients, fostering a supportive living environment.
  • Maintain accurate records of client activities and progress, reporting to management as necessary.
  • Facilitate social and recreational activities that promote community involvement and engagement.
  • Collaborate with other team members and professionals to ensure comprehensive support for clients.
Required Qualifications:
  • Minimum of a Certificate in Individual Support, Aged Care or Disability Support
  • Previous experience in disability support or related fields is highly desirable
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Compassionate, patient, and reliable with a commitment to supporting clients
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently
  • CPR and First Aid certification
