Editorial Director Position

The position of Editorial Director offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the advancement of pathology by ensuring the high-quality, peer-reviewed publication maintains its strong global reputation.

This full-time role requires coordination of all editorial operations, from submission and peer review through to publication. The successful candidate will report to the Head of Membership and Engagement, ensuring manuscripts are processed efficiently, journal policies and ethical standards are upheld, and publication deadlines are met.

  • Coordinate the full editorial workflow from submission and peer review through to publication.
  • Provide support to the Editors-in-Chief, Deputy Editor-in-Chief, Associate Editors, and Editorial Board.
  • Uphold editorial and ethical standards, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and timeliness.
  • Collaborate with authors, reviewers, and publishers to maintain journal quality and visibility.
  • Lead initiatives to enhance submissions, readership, citation impact, and international profile.
  • Contribute to the journal's long-term strategic direction.
Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the editorial process, ensuring seamless communication between editors, authors, and reviewers.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve manuscript submissions, reviewer engagement, and publication timelines.
  • Maintain the highest level of editorial integrity, adhering to industry standards and best practices.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive business growth and revenue development.
