We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Vocational Education Specialist to join our team at The State of Queensland. As a TAFE Instructor in the Automotive department, you will have the opportunity to share your extensive industry knowledge and experience with students, influencing the careers of future industry professionals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and deliver high-quality training programs in Automotive, utilizing a variety of delivery methods, including classroom, online, and workplace settings.
- Develop and implement assessment tools, ensuring students meet industry standards and requirements.
- Provide guidance and support to students, promoting their skills and knowledge in the Automotive industry.
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement curriculum, ensuring it meets industry needs and standards.
- Stay up-to-date with industry developments and advancements, incorporating this knowledge into training programs.
Requirements:
- Hold a Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology or equivalent.
- Current industry skills and knowledge directly relevant to the training and assessment provided.
- Current knowledge and skills in vocational training and learning that informs the training and assessment provided.
- Evidence of undertaking professional development in the fields of vocational training, learning, and assessment.
- Current Queensland Driver's license.
Desirable Qualifications:
- Additional qualifications in Automotive Electrical, Mobile Plant, Heavy Vehicle, or MEM – Fixed Plant.
- High level of digital literacy skills across various platforms.

- A competitive salary range of $88,547 - $118,528 (gross) per annum, depending on educational qualifications held and teaching experience.
- Four (4) weeks recreation leave (accrued annually).
- Five (5) weeks Non-Attendance Time programmed annually for preparation.
