About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Child Support Worker to join our team at Yourtown. As a Child Support Worker, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care and support to families who have experienced domestic and family violence.

Key Responsibilities
  • Contribute to the planning, development, and implementation of programs and activities for children and families.
  • Supervise and care for children within the refuge setting in collaboration with their parent and the program team.
  • Deliver children's activities and adjunct care.
  • Support parents to strengthen their parenting skills and provide practical support with daily tasks such as meal preparation and boundary setting.
  • Develop and participate in a range of social, recreational, and educational activities for children and parents.
Requirements
  • Minimum Certificate III Childcare or relevant Certificate IV qualification and at least 3 years of experience working with children and families.
  • Demonstrated experience or a good understanding of how to work with vulnerable children and families with complex needs.
  • Knowledge of or a willingness to develop knowledge of legislation relating to domestic and family violence and child protection.
  • Ability to work collaboratively to increase parental capacity and communicate effectively with children and families with complex social and family concerns.
  • High-level interpersonal and written skills, as well as well-developed planning and time management skills.
