Job Title: Indigenous Relationships Advisor

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to join our team as an Indigenous Relationships Advisor. This role is critical in fostering positive relationships with Traditional Owners and other First Nations stakeholders.

In this position, you will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies to strengthen mutually beneficial relationships with regional First Nations stakeholders and organisations. You will also provide advice, guidance, and training to staff on managing relationships with First Nations people respectfully.

The ideal candidate will have degree level qualifications in business or social sciences or substantial relevant experience. They will also have demonstrated ability to build strong relationships with Aboriginal Parties and government departments, and ability to liaise, consult and negotiate with traditional land owners, and community groups.

As an Indigenous Relationships Advisor, you will play a key role in shaping a progressive career connecting more than five million Queenslanders to a world-class, clean energy future.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver a coordinated regional approach to First Nations engagement, ensuring broad community involvement and sustainable relationship development
  • Develop and implement strategies such as participation frameworks in collaboration with stakeholders
  • Establish and strengthen mutually beneficial relationships with regional First Nations stakeholders and organisations
  • Identify and promote opportunities for First Nations participation in training, employment, and subcontracting
  • Provide advice, guidance, and training to staff on managing relationships with First Nations people respectfully
Requirements:
  • Degree level qualifications in business or social sciences or substantial relevant experience
  • Demonstrated ability to build strong relationships with Aboriginal Parties and government departments, and ability to liaise, consult and negotiate with traditional land owners, and community groups
  • Demonstrated ability to provide expert advice to stakeholders on a diverse range of cultural heritage, Native Title, and landholder issues
