Job Opportunity: Experienced Horse Leader

The role involves managing a team of staff in a stable barn consisting of 25 horses.

The successful applicant must be a competent horseman/woman with a strong passion for the Racing Industry.

The position requires administering equine drugs, understanding and evaluating the horse's health, monitoring each horse's nutritional needs and diet, recording eating habits, and organizing staff in the Barn.

Key Responsibilities:

• Administering equine drugs & understanding of the rules of Australian Racing;
• Understanding and evaluation of the horse's health and checking for injuries;
• Monitoring each horse's nutritional needs and diet, recording eating habits;
• Organizing staff in the Barn.

Essential Skills:

• Minimum 3 years experience within the Racing Industry as a horse leader;
• Experience handling and educating young horses;
• Excellent communication and time management skills;
• Previous experience saddling on race days.

Preferred Qualifications:

• First aid certification or willingness to obtain it;
• Knowledge of equine health and nutrition.

Work is performed primarily outdoors, with some indoor tasks required. The applicant must be able to lift up to 20kg and stand for extended periods.
