Design Team Lead Position

This is an exciting opportunity to assume a senior role in leading a multidisciplinary design team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the design process, ensuring alignment and integration of design solutions with various stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Directing primary and secondary design, conducting thorough design reviews, and collaborating with external consultants on electrical studies.
  • Liaising with clients, internal and external teams, and construction to ensure effective communication and integration of design solutions.
  • Monitoring and controlling design expenditures using robust tracking systems to optimise budgets and prevent overruns.
  • Ensuring all deliverables meet quality, safety, and regulatory standards through effective QA processes.
Requirements
  • Proven experience as a senior designer or design manager on major energy infrastructure projects (HV/EHV substations).
  • Primary design engineering expertise.
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications (e.g., Bachelor of Engineering).
  • Chartered status or working towards it.
  • Membership (or eligibility) with a relevant professional body (e.g., Engineers Australia).
