The Geelong Clinic is seeking a skilled mental health professional to fill a part-time DBT Group Facilitator role in their Day Program.

Located on the fringe of the CBD, The Geelong Clinic provides dedicated psychiatric care and offers free parking for employees. This position offers scope for further career enhancement and the opportunity to work with a multidisciplinary team-based approach supported by other experienced mental health professionals.

The DBT Skills Group is designed for individuals with long-standing personality and emotional difficulties, particularly those with a diagnosis of Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD) or Borderline Personality Traits. The program aims to address patterns of maladaptive behaviours, including self-harm and suicidal tendencies, in addition to thoughts and beliefs that interfere with quality of life.

About the Role:

  • Co-facilitate the DBT Skills Group, a full-day program running twice weekly.
  • Develop and implement group plans between modules.
  • Provide regular supervision with the Allied Health Manager and co-facilitator.
  • Offer support and guidance to participants with complex needs.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality patient care.

Requirements:

  • Appropriate qualifications in Psychology, Social Work, Occupational Therapy, or Nursing, including APHRA registration where applicable.
  • Experience delivering group-based therapeutic interventions in a mental health setting.
  • High-level organisation, communication, and collaboration skills.
  • Experience facilitating DBT skills groups (highly desirable).
  • Completed certified DBT training (desirable).
