Legal Professional with Commercial Acumen

We are seeking an experienced Legal Professional to join our team. This is a 12-month fixed-term contract role, providing corporate legal, commercial and governance advice to all of our businesses.
Key Responsibilities- Undertake the review of marketing material to ensure legal compliance.
- Provide corporate legal, commercial and governance advice to all of our businesses.
- Contract drafting, review and negotiation.
- Insurance product advice and documentation.
- Statutory interpretation and advice on legislative reform impacting our business.
- Litigation support for corporate litigation.
- Legal Advice on complaints and potential disputes, including at AFCA.
- Staff legal training.
- Provide support to senior Lawyers, the General Counsel & Office of the CEO.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Tertiary qualifications (LLB or equivalent).
- Current NSW (or other Australian State) Legal Practitioner Practising Certificate – mandatory.
- Minimum 3 years' post qualification experience in a mid or top-tier firm.
- Private practice experience in providing commercial legal advice.
- Previous experience working in an insurance and/or Australian financial services environment (beneficial).
- A pragmatic and commercial focus (including understanding of the commercial environment of the general insurance market).
- Highly developed stakeholder and people management skills.
- High level of written and spoken language skills.
- Understanding of the commercial environment of the general insurance market.
