Ravenswood School for Girls is seeking a highly skilled Financial Assistant to join its Finance Department in a permanent full-time capacity. This role works year-round, with 4 weeks' of annual leave.
The successful candidate will assist the Payroll Manager with the processing of bi-monthly payroll, perform the full payroll function on rotation, and prepare monthly payroll reconciliation. They will also conduct daily bank account reconciliations, prepare and reconcile corporate credit card accounts, and post journals.
Key responsibilities include assisting with the month-end process, which includes balance sheet reconciliations and cash flow management, as well as supporting the annual audit and budget preparation. The Financial Assistant will also assist in the preparation of BAS (Business Activity Statements), serve as backup for the accounts receivable function, including tuition fee billing and debtor management, and provide backup support as directed or in the absence of Finance staff.
Key skills and competencies required for this role include strong communication and numeracy skills, strong computer literacy, and experience in Synergetic. The successful candidate will also have bookkeeping and accounting experience, the ability to work to deadlines, excellent organisational skills, and exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
Education and Qualifications
- A Bachelor of Business or Accounting Degree, or equivalent.
- Currently completing or a desire to complete CA/CPA qualification.
