As a Senior Platform Engineer, you will be part of a talented team that works closely with the engineering manager and technical product manager to evolve our internal systems and platforms. Your expertise in software development, particularly in complex features and understanding requirements, will be invaluable in driving quality and delivering platform projects.

This role offers a unique opportunity to make a significant impact on our company's growth. You will be responsible for developing cross-cutting technologies that support all Dovetail engineers in delivering value to our customers. Additionally, you will participate in the design and implementation of technical solutions for Dovetail's platform, including infrastructure, application foundations, developer tooling, CI/CD, and observability.

Main Responsibilities
  • Own the technologies that power our engineering team, directly impacting delivery performance, developer experience, reliability, and the end-to-end customer experience.
  • Collaborate with the platform team to mature our operational health, promoting operational practices within our platform and product teams.
  • Support other engineers through code review, pair programming, design sparring, and career growth.
  • Foster a culture of pragmatism, maintaining and establishing detailed guidelines and standards for product development processes based on industry best practices and experience.
Key Qualifications
  • Strong background in software development, with experience working on complex features and understanding requirements.
  • Pragmatic and flexible approach to solving problems, comfortable with ambiguity, operating with high independence, being resourceful in solving problems, and adjusting to shifting deadlines and project goals.
  • Excellent communication skills, able to convey thoughts, opinions, and feelings with the platform team, articulating effort vs impact tradeoffs.
