About this role: We are seeking a skilled Metal Fabrication Assistant to join our team in an Australian company.

About the job: This role involves inspecting metal components, maintaining workshop organisation, handling deliveries, managing stock, and improving processes. The successful candidate will help maintain high safety and quality standards.

Main responsibilities:

  • Safety Compliance: Follow safety guidelines to keep the workplace safe and efficient.
  • Quality Control: Inspect metal components and kits to ensure they meet standards before leaving the workshop.
  • Deliveries: Ensure timely and safe deliveries to local sites and the Assembly facility.
  • Workshop Organisation: Maintain a clean and organised workshop and warehouse.
  • Inventory Management: Track stock levels, assist with stocktakes, and record accurately in our system (Cin7).
  • Process Improvement: Follow existing processes and suggest ways to improve them.
  • Record Keeping: Keep accurate records of quality inspections, deliveries, and stock levels.
  • Equipment Operation: Safely operate equipment like forklifts (licence required) and perform heavy lifting as needed.

Requirements:

  • Prior experience in a workshop or fabrication environment is preferred.
  • BASIC knowledge of quality control and metal fabrication is essential.
  • A current driver's licence and forklift licence is required.
  • Comfortable using inventory systems like Cin7 (or willing to learn).
  • Strong organisational skills and good communication are necessary.
  • Ability to lift up to 20kg and handle physical tasks.
  • A proactive team player who takes pride in getting things right.
