Role Overview

We are seeking a skilled Firefighting Specialist to join our team in providing firefighting services across Queensland. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for responding to emergency incidents, participating in training sessions, and maintaining equipment.

Mandatory Requirements

  • You must be eligible to apply for or hold a current Blue Card.
  • You need to obtain your employer's written consent to attend incidents and emergencies (if applicable).
  • You should live or work within a reasonable distance of an auxiliary fire station.
  • You must have Australian Permanent Resident Status.
  • You require a manual C-Class driver's license.

Key Responsibilities

  • You will attend incident and emergency calls, with a minimum attendance requirement of 50% as a day worker with routine hours or 30% as a shift worker with non-routine hours.
  • You will participate in regular drill and training sessions, with a minimum attendance requirement of 75%.
  • You will obtain an MRV license at your own expense within 12 months of employment.
  • You will comply with QFES policies and procedures, including code of conduct, safety, and personal presentation standards.
  • You will respond to fire and other emergency incidents as part of a team.

Salary and Benefits

The estimated annual salary for this role is $60,000 - $80,000 AUD, depending on experience and qualifications. We offer a range of benefits, including access to ongoing training and development opportunities, and a comprehensive leave program.
