About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Splunk Architect to join our team at Green Light. As a key member of our IT services business, you will be responsible for designing, deploying, and managing Splunk solutions to undertake various engineering and data ingestion projects.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Architectural Design
  • Design and implement complex Splunk infrastructures, including Splunk Enterprise OnPrem and Cloud, Enterprise Security, and SOAR.
  • Develop scalable Splunk architectures that align with business requirements and customer needs.
Data Ingestion
  • Configure and manage data ingestion pipelines to provide a performant data ingestion solution with multiple uses.
  • Ensure reliable and efficient data collection from various sources, including logs, metrics, and structured and unstructured data.
  • Ingest and integrate data from external sources to provide correlation and enrichment.
Visualisation Creation
  • Design and develop interactive, user-friendly, and insightful dashboards and reports to support business and customer needs.
  • Continually optimise existing dashboards to create visualisations for contextual awareness for security and performance.
Performance Optimisation & Monitoring
  • Monitor Splunk environments to ensure optimal performance, availability, and reliability.
  • Implement best practices for the Splunk platform to ensure access privilege is maintained and customer data is secured.
Security
  • Understand and implement custom Enterprise Security Use Cases to continually enhance detection and alerting.
  • Maintain and develop Risk Based Alerting maturity.
  • Use notable events to build automation processes to enrich and contextualise alerting.
  • Develop playbooks and workbooks to automate the security processes.
Compliance
  • Ensure compliance with security policies and protocols.
  • Implement security measures to safeguard Splunk data and environments.
Collaboration & Support
  • Work with Infrastructure, Cybersecurity, and Data teams to integrate Splunk solutions with existing systems.
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting for Splunk-related issues.
Documentation & Training
  • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for Splunk configurations, processes, and procedures.
  • Provide training and mentorship to team members and end-users on Splunk usage and best practices.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience working with Splunk.
  • Splunk certification (e.g., Splunk Certified Architect, Splunk Core Consultant) preferred.
Skills & Competencies
  • Proficiency in designing and deploying Splunk infrastructures.
  • Strong understanding of data integration and ingestion techniques.
  • Experience in creating complex dashboards, searches, and reports.
  • Knowledge of scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash) and regular expressions.
  • In-depth understanding of IT infrastructure, network protocols, and security practices.
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and troubleshooting skills.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Understanding of Splunk uses in a Security context.
