Director of Student Life and Wellbeing

The University of New South Wales seeks a highly skilled and experienced professional to fill the position of Director of Student Life and Wellbeing. This role plays a pivotal leadership part within the Pro Vice-Chancellor Student Success portfolio.
Key Responsibilities- Strategic Leadership: Provide comprehensive personal, financial, and social support services to enhance student wellbeing and success through leading a multidisciplinary team.
- Expert Advice: Advise the Pro Vice-Chancellor and senior stakeholders on critical incident management, international student compliance, and support.
- Student Engagement and Support: Foster a sense of belonging by leading the development and implementation of innovative onboarding and transition and co-curricular student engagement activities as well as tailored support for diverse student communities.
- Critical Incident Management: Play a critical and leading role in the university's Critical Incident Management Team (CIMT), ensuring swift and effective responses to student incidents in alignment with university policies.
You will hold a relevant tertiary qualification with substantial relevant experience or equivalent competence gained through any combination of education, training and experience. Significant leadership experience and strong discipline knowledge in the conceptual frameworks for social work, crisis management and case management of vulnerable or at-risk students particularly in the university environment is required.
A proven ability to develop and implement strategic initiatives that enhance student engagement, participation and sense of belonging through access to support services and initiatives is also necessary. Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills to work effectively with diverse senior stakeholders across the university are essential. In-depth knowledge and application of university policies and procedures as well as legislation related to student support and well-being is also required.
