About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to work in a team that provides outreach services to Aboriginal communities in the Northern Rivers.

You will provide high-quality advice, minor assistance and casework services in areas such as consumer, mental health, human rights, employment, housing, immigration, social security, and/or coronial inquests.

  • You will work closely with other solicitors, social workers and financial counsellors to deliver culturally appropriate and trauma-informed legal support.
  • As part of this role, you will have opportunities for professional development and growth within the team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Providing outreach services to Aboriginal communities in the Northern Rivers region
  • Working closely with other solicitors, social workers and financial counsellors to deliver culturally appropriate legal support
  • Providing high-quality advice and casework services in areas such as consumer law, mental health and human rights
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Be Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander
  • Be admitted or be eligible for admission as a legal practitioner in NSW
  • Hold a current NSW Practising Certificate
  • Have experience working with Aboriginal clients and/or communities
  • Be willing to do a Criminal Record Check and Working with Children Check
