Sheet Metal Craftsman

As a key member of our team, the sheet metal fabricator will play a crucial role in fabricating, assembling, installing, and repairing sheet metal products and equipment.

• Fabrication and Assembly:
• Utilize shears, plasma machines, press brakes, welding machines, and other hand tools to fabricate and assemble sheet metal products.
• Heavy Machinery Operation:
• Operate heavy machinery and equipment safely and efficiently.
• Material Handling:
• Load and unload trucks of material to be staged and installed throughout the jobsite.
• Steel Support Installation:
• Hang steel supports from ceiling joists and concrete slabs to hold ducts in place.
• Dimensioning and Marking:
• Measure and mark dimensions and reference lines on metal sheets.
• Metal Work:
• Drill holes in metal for screws, bolts, and rivets, and install metal ducts with supportive frameworks.
• Site Alterations:
• Fabricate or alter parts at construction sites as needed.
• Welding and Fastening:
• Fasten seams and joints by welding, bolting, or riveting.
• Blueprint Review:
• Review blueprints and specifications to determine work sequence and effective, safe procedures.
• Daily Huddles:
• Complete daily huddles, pre-plan work to ensure safety, productivity, and quality, and inspect equipment, structures, and materials to identify errors, safety hazards, or other issues.
