Procurement Specialist

The Procurement Specialist will be responsible for managing and monitoring all purchasing duties, including follow-up of purchase orders, creating requisitions/work orders, and providing guidance and support to staff to enhance proficiency in procurement activities.
The role will initially support operations, requiring regular travel to site to develop and strengthen relationships with internal stakeholders and external suppliers and vendors alike.
Key Responsibilities:- Manage and monitor all purchasing duties, including follow-up of purchase orders and creation of requisitions/work orders.
- Provide guidance and support to staff to enhance proficiency in procurement activities.
- Negotiate contracts for cost-effective procurement of goods and services.
- Identify process improvements and implement changes to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
- Certificate IV in Purchasing or Warehousing (advantageous).
- Strong experience negotiating contracts for cost-effective procurement of goods and services.
- Flexibility to organise, respond to urgent purchasing requests, and expedite emergency purchasing to ensure continued operations.
- Class C Open Manual Driver's license.
