We are seeking a motivated individual to support our estimating and procurement team from tender through to construction phases. This role is aimed at students currently working towards completing their University Degree.

The Jaytex cadet program provides real work experience and exposure to complex construction projects, fast-tracking your career in Project and Construction Management. You will report to the Senior Estimator and assist with estimating tasks, cost analysis, bid preparation, vendor relations, documentation, and team collaboration.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist senior estimators in preparing estimates and bids for construction projects.
  • Analyse project plans and specifications to determine the cost of materials, Labor, and equipment needed.
  • Help prepare and submit accurate and competitive bids to potential clients.
  • Coordinate with suppliers, subcontractors, and vendors to gather quotes and negotiate pricing.
  • Maintain accurate records of estimates, bids, and project documents.
Requirements:
  • Demonstrated experience in Project Administration or similar role (highly desirable).
  • Currently studying in your last or second last year of a construction-related degree (such as construction, engineering, design, and quantity surveying).
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Project and Suite.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Accurate data entry skills and attention to detail.
  • Australian/New Zealand citizenship or Permanent Residency.
