Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Stable Operations Manager to lead our racing stable team.

  • This is a key leadership role that requires strong organisational and communication skills, with a focus on providing exceptional care and management for our horses.
  • The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the stable, including managing feeding schedules, grooming routines, exercise programs, and box management.
Responsibilities
  • Maintain high standards for horse welfare, presentation, and health through effective management and supervision of staff and facilities.
  • Conduct daily trot-ups and soundness checks, record treatments and liaise with veterinarians and farriers as necessary.
  • Coordinate morning work, swimming, treadmill, and rehabilitation sessions; manage race-day gear and organise logistics.
  • Maintain accurate records of work, medications, and feed, and provide clear updates to the trainer on progress, issues, and targets.
  • Educate and improve the manners of inexperienced horses, and present horses professionally on race days.
Requirements
  • Proven experience as a Stable Foreperson/Manager (minimum 3 years) in a professional racing stable.
  • Strong leadership, people management, and communication skills, with the ability to remain calm under pressure.
  • Deep knowledge of racehorse care, soundness, training routines, and equipment, with confident handling of colts and sharp horses.
  • Excellent organisational and attention-to-detail skills, with proactive problem-solving and technical aptitude.
