About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Engineering Policy Lead to join our team at the Commonwealth Bank of Australia. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and implementing engineering policies, standards, and playbooks to ensure consistency and efficiency in our engineering practices.

Job Description:

The successful candidate will lead the development and implementation of engineering policies, standards, and playbooks to ensure consistency and efficiency in engineering practices. This will involve collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure that engineering standards are aligned with business objectives and industry best practices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and Implement Engineering Policies: Develop, implement, and maintain engineering policies, standards, and playbooks to ensure consistency and efficiency in engineering practices.
  • Collaborate with Cross-Functional Teams: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure that engineering standards are aligned with business objectives and industry best practices.
  • Monitor and Evaluate Effectiveness: Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of engineering policies and standards, making adjustments as necessary to improve performance and compliance.
  • Stay Up-to-Date with Industry Trends: Stay up to date with industry trends and advancements to ensure that our engineering practices remain cutting-edge and competitive.
  • Communicate with Stakeholders: Communicate engineering policies and standards to stakeholders at all levels of the organization, ensuring understanding and compliance.

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Strong Understanding of Engineering Principles: A strong understanding of engineering principles, standards, and best practices.
  • Proven Experience in a Similar Role: Proven experience in a similar role within an engineering team with a focus on policy development and implementation.
  • Experience in Financial Services Industry: Experience in the financial services industry or a similar highly regulated environment would be advantageous.
  • Excellent Collaboration and Communication Skills: Excellent collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strategic Thinker: A strategic thinker with a passion for continuous improvement and raising standards.
  • Experience with Agile Ways of Working: Experience working with Agile ways of working, including tooling such as Jira & Confluence.
  • Demonstrated Risk & Cost Management Mindset: Demonstrated risk & cost management mindset.

What We Offer:

We offer a competitive salary of around $150,000 - $180,000 per annum, depending on experience, plus a range of benefits, including flexible working arrangements, professional development opportunities, and a dynamic work environment.
