About the Role

The psychologist will be working in a multidisciplinary team with female offenders experiencing mental illness. The role may involve scholarly writing, research, and court-ordered psychological assessments.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide comprehensive psychological services and advice on patient management and treatment.
  • Conduct specialist psychological, psychometric, and psychodiagnostic assessments and prepare reports as necessary.
  • Deliver individual and group interventions tailored to patient needs.
  • Contribute to patient risk assessment and risk management in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team.
  • Make discipline-specific contributions to clinical practice and program development.
Requirements:
  • Previous experience working in a mental health facility or forensic mental health service is highly regarded.
  • Knowledge of clinical forensic psychology, including forensic assessments and intervention with offenders and patients.
  • Understanding of clinical neuropsychology and assessment of functional deficits.
  • Experience working with female offenders, particularly those with personality disorders.
  • Good understanding of current psychological approaches in working with clients in forensic mental health settings.
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation, the mental health system, and the criminal justice system.
