**Your Opportunity**
The Power Distribution Technologist is responsible for providing cost estimates and designs for various electrical distribution projects. As a member of our team, you will communicate directly with clients and customers to establish service requirements and provide design solutions that meet their needs. You will also ensure that projects are effectively coordinated and executed, meeting all applicable codes, standards, and regulations.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Design electrical infrastructure to meet project requirements
- Develop design solutions that meet all applicable codes, standards, and regulations
- Estimate project costs and prepare material lists
- Maintain effective communication with clients and stakeholders
- Monitor project progress and take action to meet client requirements
- Travel to project sites as required
- Identify potential safety or environmental concerns and initiate appropriate action
- Cordinate designs with third-party stakeholders
- Facilitate approval requests with third-party stakeholders
- Provide technical guidance to customers, stakeholders, and external consultants
**Qualifications**
To succeed in this role, you must have effective interpersonal skills, strong written and verbal communication abilities, and the capacity to work effectively as part of a team. You should also possess strong time management and prioritization skills, demonstrated project management experience, and knowledge of PLSCAD or SPIDAcalc. A valid Class 5 Driver's License is also required.
**Education and Experience**
A Diploma in Electrical or Civil Engineering Technology is preferred, along with experience in power distribution for utilities within North America.
**Work Environment**
You will typically work in an office environment using computers. Stantec offers a flexible work environment, including a hybrid model of working in the office and at home. Fieldwork may involve exposure to the elements, including inclement weather.
