About the Role
  • Advise on legal, compliance and regulatory aspects of energy storage projects across the full project lifecycle from origination, development, financing, construction, delivery and operation.
  • Lead and support due diligence and negotiation of project agreements, including MOUs, landowner agreements, equipment supply and EPC contracts, O&M agreements, and power offtake arrangements.
  • Provide legal input on governance, policies, and corporate legal work.
  • Work closely with commercial and project delivery teams on procurement, contract management and risk.
  • Monitor relevant regulatory and legislative changes in the renewables and energy storage space.
  • Instruct and manage external legal counsel.
What Type of Person Will Be Successful?
  • Must be admitted as a lawyer in Australia.
  • Practicing as a projects, energy or infrastructure lawyer for 2-6 years in private practice or in-house would be beneficial.
  • Experience advising on development, construction and financing of large-scale renewables or infrastructure projects would be advantageous.
  • Familiarity with regulatory and risk frameworks in the energy sector.
  • Strong drafting, negotiation and contract management skills.
  • Collaborative, adaptable and self-motivated, with a commercial mindset.
  • Enjoys working in a fast-paced, early-stage environment.
