Heavy Equipment Operator Opportunity

The Council is seeking skilled Heavy Equipment Operators to join its team in Molong and Cudal.

This role involves operating various construction plant and machinery, including rollers, front-end loaders, skid-steer loaders, backhoes, excavators, soil stabilisers, tractors, and graders. The primary purpose of this role is to assist in road construction and maintenance works, contributing to the achievement of Council's objectives in accordance with policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Operate heavy equipment such as rollers, front-end loaders, and backhoes for road construction and maintenance.
  • Drive and operate HR trucks as required.
  • Assist with roadside maintenance, road construction set-out, and manual works.
  • Provide timely and accurate reports on equipment performance and undertake light maintenance within capabilities.
  • Carry out traffic control at worksites by implementing Traffic Control Plans (TCPs).
Requirements:
  • Construction Induction Certification (White Card) is essential.
  • Previous experience in operating heavy equipment in a construction environment is necessary.
  • Effective communication skills are required to understand and follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Demonstrated commitment to teamwork, reliability, and punctuality is essential.
  • A positive attitude and flexibility are highly valued.

These are full-time positions offering a 9-day fortnight, with opportunities for overtime and flexible working arrangements.

This is a rewarding opportunity to work in local communities, with no shift work or rotational rostering required.
