Financial Governance Officer

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Financial Governance Officer to join our team. As a key member of the finance function, you will be responsible for ensuring the effective management of financial processes, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and purchasing requisitions.

Main Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and manage financial processes, including AP, AR, and purchase requisitions.
  • Responsible officer for corporate cards, petty cash, and cost center management.
  • Ensure adherence to best practice financial policies, procedures, and systems in accordance with relevant legislation and internal guidelines.
  • Manage general finance queries from internal and external stakeholders as the main liaison officer between Queensland Shared Services (QSS) and ECQ.
  • Prepare monthly expenditure, revenue, and trial balance reports, and complete an audit sample of transactions processed.
  • Manage monthly balance sheet reconciliations within the Finance Team.
  • Assist the Principal Finance Officer during the annual end of financial year audit process.
  • Coordinate and manage the financial component of the Non-Voter process for elections.
  • Provide assistance as required to the Procurement and Contracts Manager in low value and low risk procurement activities.
  • Supervise and provide training of casual and temporary employees within the work unit during major electoral events and participate actively in all facets of the conduct of electoral events where required.

  • A qualification in Finance, Accounting, or Business would be highly regarded.
  • Level 1 or 2 certification as a Procurement Officer would be highly regarded.
