Independent Advisory Committee Opportunity

We are seeking a qualified individual to join our independent advisory committee. The committee provides assurance to assist with oversight responsibilities and promotes good corporate governance.

About the Role

The role involves reviewing and advising on Council operations in areas such as compliance, risk management, fraud control, financial management, and governance. The successful candidate will have recent and relevant experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide independent advice to assist with oversight across compliance, risk management, fraud control, financial management, and governance.
  • Review and advise on the implementation of the strategic plan, delivery program, and associated strategies, and service reviews.
  • Support objective, independent judgement and constructive challenge of management practices and information.
Requirements

To be considered for this role, applicants must demonstrate the ability to read and understand financial statements and understand ethical requirements of government. They must also have functional knowledge in risk management, performance management, HR management, internal and external auditing, financial reporting, accounting, management control frameworks, internal financial controls, governance, or business operations.
