About the role

High data quality is critical to delivering valuable insights to stakeholders in financial and investment reporting. The Finance Solutions team provides finance-related advisory services and solution support across the QIC Group. Located within the Finance division, this team exists to support and maintain QIC Finance applications as well as enhance and deliver process improvements, reporting, and analytics solutions, financial reporting, procurement governance, and technical accounting support across QIC.

An exciting opportunity exists for a result-driven, innovative Business Intelligence Developer to source alternative datasets, develop data strategy roadmaps, and drive data integrity and insights for Finance.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Building logical and physical data models using best practices to ensure high data quality.
  • Collaborating with key stakeholders across the business to drive data integrity and develop and implement data strategy roadmaps.
  • Interrogating data to illustrate any anomalies, issues, and reconciling differences amongst datasets.
  • Validating data integrations to and from finance systems through the utilisation of appropriate tools.
  • Contributing to data mining initiatives and dashboard visualisation developments.

About You

You will be someone who actively engages with the business, with a passion for bringing data to life and will likely meet the following criteria:

  • Exceptional attention to detail with a curious and adaptable mindset.
  • Proven experience building data models, automated reports, and dashboards.
  • Strong financial modelling skills, with an ability to adapt and learn systems quickly.
  • Ability to work in an agile environment with minimal supervision.
  • Experience interrogating enterprise systems, applications, and middleware processes.
  • Ability to utilise programming languages (Python, SQL, Java, R etc.) and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, specifically, PowerBI, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Degree (or relevant certifications) in data science, business/commerce, information technology, engineering, or equivalent.

The estimated salary for this role is $80,000-$110,000 per annum, depending on experience.
