Job Overview

We are seeking a Materials Manager to join our project team delivering the Darwin Ship Lift Facility.

About the Role

This role will be based on our project site in Darwin on a 15:6 roster. As a Materials Manager, you will provide cost control technical expertise through timely monitoring, controlling, analysing, and reporting of project cost & progress information with a strong focus on trending, forecasting, and management of change.

You will oversee the inventory of materials, equipment, and supplies to prevent shortages and minimize excess, implement inventory control measures to optimize stock levels and reduce holding costs, plan and coordinate the transportation of materials to and from the construction site, and collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to understand material requirements and timeline.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field
  • 5+ years minimum experience in logistics and material management, preferably in construction projects or chemical plants
  • Strong knowledge of customs regulations, transportation logistics, and supply chain best practices
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
