About the Role

This role is about working together to keep our training areas safe, well-maintained and ready for use by Defence Forces. You will be responsible for caring for and managing the land including grass cutting, tree removal, weed control and pest management.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Caring for and managing the land, including grass cutting, tree removal, weed control and pest management.
  • Supporting emergency response activities, including firefighting when needed.
  • Operating and maintaining portable target systems.
  • Working closely with others to ensure the range is safe, secure and operational.

Ideally, you will bring some of the following skills and qualifications:

  • Light vehicle licence (HR Truck licence, Backhoe or Plant Operator licence would be great but not essential).
  • Bush firefighting qualifications (or willingness to obtain).
  • Map reading and navigation skills (we can train you if you're new to this).
  • Senior First Aid certificate (or ability to gain one).
  • Clear communication skills and basic computer skills (MS Office).
