Job Title:

Grounds Maintenance Assistant

Description:

We are seeking a skilled grounds maintenance professional to assist our team in maintaining clean and safe environments for clients.

About the Role:

The successful candidate will be responsible for grounds maintenance of all properties, including:

  • Maintaining a clean and safe work environment for clients and employees in line with health and safety principles
  • Repairing and maintaining equipment
  • Mowing and edging lawns
  • General maintenance of gardens, including pruning and trimming of trees and shrubs
  • Rubbish removal
  • Assisting with additional tasks, such as moving furniture and house set-ups

Responsibilities:

  • Motivating and promoting increased productivity
  • Quality control of site grounds
  • Supporting and training youth in grounds maintenance
  • Undertaking external works within the community under Community Property Maintenance

Requirements:

  • Experience in horticulture or equivalent
  • 12 months experience in a relevant trade
  • Current Manual Driver's License
  • Broad range of maintenance skills
  • Experience with commercial ride-on mowers and other power garden equipment
  • High level of physical health and fitness
  • Tidy and professional appearance
  • Strong team working skills
  • Sound knowledge of WHS policies and principles
  • Outstanding communication, organisational and time management skills

Additional Requirements:

  • Current First Aid Certificate
  • A current driver's license
  • Comprehensive Car Insurance
  • Willingness to participate in pre-employment medical checks
  • Two professional references
