About the Role

McConnell Dowell Constructors has an exciting opportunity for a talented Senior Electrical Engineer to join our project team on a critical project in the Northern Territory.

This role plays a crucial part in the successful delivery of a project for our client.

This role is offered on a fly-in-fly-out basis with competitive rates and allowances and will be based on a remote location.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage on-site electrical engineering functions through subordinates, which may include project engineers, electrical supervisors, sub-contractors, and/or cost/planning support.
  • Monitor quality and quantities of incoming equipment and material, check work drawings, construction, and specifications against site plans and conditions, and arrange corrections or modifications where necessary.
  • Coordinate the activities of an engineering team, program workloads, and provide technical and administrative guidance to the engineering staff to ensure aims and objectives are effectively and economically achieved.
  • Ensure that project engineering completion is on time and within budget.
  • Record completed work, costs incurred, materials used, and retain progress drawings.
  • Assign work and assist with reviews for accuracy and adherence to required standards of supplier/subcontractor quotations/purchase orders as well as subcontractor arrangements.
About You
  • Tertiary qualification in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in electrical engineering, preferably in a construction environment.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical systems, components, and industry standards.
  • Proficiency in using electrical design software and tools.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
