This is a challenging and rewarding opportunity for a skilled and experienced electrical engineer to join our team. As a Project Engineer – Electrical, you will play a key role in the delivery of our renewable energy projects.

The Role:

We are seeking an experienced electrical engineer to lead the site works associated with one or more contractors for the project. This includes supervising and monitoring site activities, ensuring compliance with project frameworks and principal requirements, and managing construction operations.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide project engineering support to the Construction Manager.
  • Contribute to a project culture based on open communication and collaboration between all project team members.
  • Engage in day-to-day relationships with contractors, consultants, local stakeholders, landowners, and regulatory authorities.
  • Deliver the project in line with our objectives, including time, cost, and quality standards.
  • Assist in managing the construction of the project and contractors, including reporting, issue resolution, on-site inspections, and reviews.

Health, Safety, Environment and Quality (HSEQ):
  • Be a champion for HSEQ by adhering to, communicating, and promoting adherence to our policies.
  • Model a proactive approach to HSEQ and support all team members to develop and maintain a strong HSEQ culture on site.
  • Ensure that any notifiable incidents are correctly reported.

Design and Supply:
  • Be fully aware of project requirements associated with the supply and installation of works to ensure timely design progression and interface requirements are met.
  • Ensure inspections are conducted in compliance with principal requirements and accurate quality documentation is provided.
  • Work with the Owner's Engineer on certification of completeness for milestone payments.
  • Work with site team members on interfaces and overall installation management.
  • Assist in reviewing design for compliance with principal requirements in collaboration with the OE.

Site Works:
  • Ensure full awareness of ongoing site activities related to the role and provide assessments of those activities on the overall project.
  • Verify contractor performance and contract compliance.
  • Ensure works are in accordance with project reference documents.
  • Close liaison with site team to handle issues in accordance with contract requirements.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or equivalent qualification from Institute of Engineers Australia.
  • Minimum seven years' experience delivering complex projects, ideally within the renewable energy sector.
  • Sound technical and commercial knowledge of electrical design and construction standards.
  • Experience in design, construction, and commissioning of electrical power infrastructure.
  • Experience with safety and environmental risk mitigation controls.
