Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver Safe and Effective Patient Care
    • Provide individualized care to patients in the Emergency Department, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care.
    • Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to ensure seamless care transitions and optimal patient outcomes.
  • Supervise and Mentor Nursing Staff
    • Supervise and direct Enrolled Nurses (ENs) and Assistants in Nursing (AINs) to deliver patient care.
    • Provide education and support to nursing staff to enhance their skills and knowledge.
  • Participate in Quality Improvement Initiatives
    • Contribute to quality improvement projects to enhance patient care and safety.
    • Participate in peer review and feedback to promote a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with the Healthcare Team
    • Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
    • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members to ensure seamless care transitions.
Requirements
  • Education and Qualifications
    • Bachelor of Science (Nursing) or equivalent.
    • Current Registration (no restriction) with AHPRA.
  • Experience and Skills
    • Minimum 2 years' Registered Nursing experience in an Emergency/Critical Care environment.
    • Post Graduate Certificate or working towards in Critical Care or Emergency Nursing.
    • Compliance with ACQSHC National standards.
    • Working with Children check.
    • Clinical expertise and commitment to high-quality patient care and continuous improvement.
    • Self-motivated and proven ability to work as part of a high-functioning team.
    • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
