About the Role:
  • The hospital is seeking to recruit a 0.9 FTE Medical Specialist in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.

The Child and Adolescent Service comprises a team providing assessment and treatment of young people aged 0-18 and their families with moderate to severe mental health problems. The service offers consultation to emergency departments, paediatric units, other hospital wards, and mental health inpatient units as required.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Provide expert medical assessment and management of patients within the department/service.
  2. Demonstrate capacity and experience in delivering high-quality services in the specialty, through successful clinical practice in an environment relevant to the requirements of the position, including evidence of participation in quality improvement activities.
  3. Show ability to work effectively with medical and other health services colleagues as part of a multidisciplinary healthcare team, and demonstrate effective communication skills with patients, colleagues, and staff.

This is a Category A position, requiring applicants to read and understand NSW Health Policy PD2023_022.
