TasRail is seeking a qualified Locomotive Driver to join our Operations team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for delivering freight safely to its intended destination.

• Train Operations: Drive trains in accordance with rules and safe practices, ensuring the safe transportation of freight.
• Train Inspections: Perform general train inspections to ensure the train is in good working condition.
• Ground Shunting: Undertake ground shunting operations to move trains and equipment safely.
• Fault-Finding and Repairs: Fault-find and perform minor repairs to motive power and rolling stock.
• Driver-Only Operations: Perform driver-only operations (DOO) and emergency procedures as required.
• Safe Working Authorities: Receive and action safe working authorities direct from train control, reporting to train control when required.
• Train Management: Drive all forms of traction and trains operating at the depot competently and in accordance with TasRail's safety and operational standards and procedures.
• Remote Control Operations: Perform remote control operations where/when required.

• Certificate IV Train Driving (Freight): Essential qualification for the role.
• Certificate II in Shunting: Desired qualification for the role.
• Certificate III in Terminal Driving: Desired qualification for the role.
